Spring Letter

Dear Class of 2009,

We hope that everyone is having a wonderful start to 2014, whether you’re in the polar vortex or in a warmer climate. We’ve had so much hearing from you and reconnecting over the past few months! Hopefully, you are all looking forward to our Five-Year Reunion May 30th to June 1st . We wanted to give you a quick heads-up of what’s to come.

Reunion Logistics:

Registration opens Wednesday April 2, 2014. The Alumnae Association will mail you a Reunion packet, which contains detailed information about Reunion, a program of events, and your reservation form. You’ll be able to mail your reservation form or sign up through the college website. (Don’t worry- we’ll send the more information/links closer to the date!).

Events:

The Alumnae Association is in the process of finalizing our activities and events, but the tentative list looks amazingly fun! The weekend will include: a welcome picnic, step sings , a dance party, horticultural tour of campus, tour of the Barnes Museum, morning yoga class, gatherings with the faculty, interesting lectures, career services, Quizzo, a late-night coffeehouse, dinners under the tent, receptions, Reunion Jubilee, and a parade of classes!

We’ll also have the opportunity to meet alumnae from other graduation classes who share our enduring pride in Bryn Mawr. Plus, they know how to have a good time!

Cost:

The Alumnae Association estimates that the total Reunion cost will average $300 per adult for the entire weekend. Although this is a substantial amount of money, your reservation fee includes the cost of housing in the dorms, activities, food, and beverages throughout the weekend. The College emphasizes that it subsidizes a large portion of the total Reunion costs and does not make any money from your reservation fee. Of course, donations to Bryn Mawr are always appreciated!

You’re more than welcome to attend Reunion for whatever portion of the weekend you are available! Stay for the whole weekend or join in whenever you can. You’ll only be charge for the portion you are able to attend for.

Accommodations:

Most likely, our class will be housed in Rockefeller. Your guests (partners/children/babies) are welcome to stay in the dorms with you. The College will provide basic amenities, including sheets for those long-forgotten XL twin beds. You can also elect to stay off-campus in a hotel. The Alumnae Association offers discounts at local hotels, and will provide a shuttle to/from campus. More information will be provided in your Reunion Packet.

Guests:

Children and significant others are welcome to join us for the celebration! We would love to meet the important people in your lives and to finally put faces to names. Childcare will be available at the Phoebe Anna Thorne School and special non-Mawryter activities will also be available for your guests. We hope you are as excited as we are to share our love of Bryn Mawr with friends and family!
